Continuing Education Event – Trauma-Informed Suicide Prevention in Youth – webinar – 12/21/2021

This 1 hour training will focus on trauma-informed suicide prevention in youth. At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

– Identify factors contributing to risk of suicide in youth
– Explain the concept of traumatic stress in relation to its impact on youth and families.
– Discuss features of a trauma-informed response to suicide in youth

Recovery Centers of America has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7002. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Recovery Centers of America is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. This course qualifies for 1 credit hour.

Trainer:
Dr. Kerry King is a Clinical Psychologist with two decades of experience in working with individuals, families and organizations. As a private consultant she has provided subject matter expertise and behavioral health consultation to schools, global and domestic civil service entities, as well as a variety of stakeholders within the education and behavioral health industries. Her consulting work has spanned the Eastern United States and many islands of the Caribbean.

Dr. King specializes in the treatment of persons with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, adolescent development and change management in the implementation of clinical best practices. During her career, Dr. King has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles and has directed residential and ambulatory behavioral health agencies in the Eastern United States. She is a well-regarded workshop presenter on topics related to clinical care, adolescent development and trauma-informed treatment. Dr. King is specially trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

She holds Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Master of Business Administration degrees from Widener University. Dr. King also completed undergraduate studies in Specific Learning Disability Education, Elementary Education and Psychology, at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Dr. King currently serves as the VP of Clinical Services for Recovery Centers of America.
